
FREE PRACTICE REPORT
Spa and rain; welcome to the first session of the 2010 Total 24 Hours of Spa. And so, the Free Practice session of the long weekend took place under the pouring rain, with the rain easing off about halfway through, but the track remained wet throughout. This session was dominated by Phoenix Racing, who set the two best laps, with the nr50 Audi R8 LMS setting a time of 2:42.506 and its team mate, the nr51 Audi R8 LMS, setting a best time of 2:43.027. The 3rd best time and the 3rd GT3 car was the nr99 Marc VDS Racing Ford GT with a time of 2:43.686.
The best GT2 car of the session was the nr16 IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997), with a best time of 2:44.048, placing it 4th. The nr 81 Gravity International Mosler MT 900 was the fastest GTN car with a best lap of 2:45.518, and the best GT4 time was set by the nr62 RJN Motorsport Nissan 370z, with a time of 3:03.715.
Due to the rain, the session suffered a few spins, and had a 10 minute red flag session as the nr13 Prospeed Competition Porsche 911 GT3 RS, driven by Marc Lieb, hit the tyre wall at T9. As the session ended, the nr84 Reiter Engineering Lamborghini LP560-4 had also gone off.
The Pre Qualifying session is due to start at 14:00 this afternoon with qualifying starting at 19:30.

PRE QUALIFYING REPORT
The weather at Spa proved to be traditionally unpredictable for the second session of the day for the cars and teams competing in the Total 24 Hours of Spa. The 90-minute session was dry for the opening part, but the weather soon closed in and the skies burst open once more, forcing most of the cars returned to the pits. The rain abated and the cars returned to the track to complete the final practice before this evening’s qualifying.
The GT2 class nr2 AF Corse Ferrari F430 set the fastest time of 2:24.256, just ahead of the GTN class nr79 BMW Motorsport BMW M3 with a time of 2:24.339. The nr16 IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche 911 GT3 RS was third fastest with a time of 2:24.762, and was the second fastest GT2 car.
The fastest GT3 car was the nr51 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS, in 4th with a best lap of 2:24.974, with the nr62 RJN Motorsport proving to be the top GT4 car once more with a best time of 2:44.364 putting them in 62nd place.
The first of three qualifying session start at 19:30 for 60-minutes, followed by two 45-minute night sessions starting at 21:45 and 22:45 respectively. The formation of the grid for the 2010 Total 24 hours of Spa will be decided from the results of this evenings qualifying.
